Webber Wentzel has won the 2017 Private Equity Africa (PEA) Funds Legal Advisor of the Year Award at the 6th Annual PEA GP & Advisor Awards. The Awards, held in partnership with the London Business School Private Equity Institute, celebrate the achievements of private equity houses and their advisors.
For the fourth consecutive year, Webber Wentzel has been recognised by these prestigious awards which were held in London on 1 June 2017. Previously Webber Wentzel was recognised twice as Deals Legal Advisor of the Year (in 2014 and 2016) and as Funds Legal Advisor of the Year (in 2015).
Each year, the winners are selected by a panel of independent judges, based on recommendations from the London Business School Private Equity Institute and the PEA Awards Advisory Panel.
Webber Wentzel has the premier private equity practice in the country. Their lawyers have extensive experience representing private equity and venture capital firms in acquisitions and dispositions, restructurings, finance, and fund formations. Receiving this award from an internationally recognised authority, such as PEA, reinforces their standing as the dominant private equity legal and tax advisor on the African continent, and endorses the firm's outstanding international reputation.
Brian Dennehy and Nicole Paige, both partners at Webber Wentzel, received the award on behalf of the firm at the Awards Gala Dinner which was held at the Savoy Hotel.
