Webber Wentzel has announced the appointment of Mark Kyle as a partner in the firm with effect from 2 May 2017.

Mark is one of the leading banking and finance lawyers in South Africa and joins Webber Wentzel from the Corporate and Investment Banking team at Standard Bank South Africa (SBSA). He specialises in loan finance and debt restructuring related work, in particular leveraged and acquisition finance. His expertise has been recognised by a number of international ratings agencies, including Chambers Global and IFLR1000.

Prior to being at SBSA, Mark spent a portion of his early career in London at Webber Wentzel's alliance partner, Linklaters - later returning to South Africa to be appointed as a director at Norton Rose (then Deneys Reitz) before taking up a position at SBSA.  Mark's academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), both from the University of Stellenbosch.

"We are delighted that Mark will be joining Webber Wentzel. He is very experienced and respected and will add to the bench strength of our Banking and Finance Practice. He will not only bring his exceptional expertise to the firm; but also his knowledge of working within the financial services sector. This kind of insight is extraordinarily valuable in developing our understanding of how best to service clients within this sector as we believe that what truly distinguishes our service offering is our deep understanding of our clients' business.” says Christo Els, Senior Partner at Webber Wentzel.
