The Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services has invited stakeholders and interested persons to make written submissions on the Implementation of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court Act Repeal Bill [B23- 2016].
The purpose of the Implementation of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court Act Repeal Bill is to repeal the Implementation of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court Act, 2002.
The Committee further invites members of the public to comment on the:
- Instrument of Withdrawal from the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, tabled in terms of section 231(2) of the Constitution, 1996;
- Declaratory Statement by the Republic of South Africa on the Decision to Withdraw from the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court; and
- Explanatory Memorandum on South Africa’s Withdrawal from the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
Submissions must be received by no later than 8 March 2017. Please indicate if you are interested in making a verbal presentation. Public hearings will be held in Parliament.
