The Provincial General Council (PGC) of the African National Congress (ANC) in the North West will be held in April to fill the vacancy of the provincial secretary, the party said on Tuesday.
"The PGC to fill in the vacancy of provincial secretary will be held during the first weekend of April 2018. This shall be preceded by the convening of branch general meetings to select delegates for this purpose," deputy provincial secretary Sussana Dantjie said, after the special Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) meeting in Hartbeespoort Dam, near Brits.
The position became vacant when Dakota Legoete was elected into the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ANC at the party's national conference in Nasrec, Johannesburg, in December.
Dantjie said the regional conference of Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati would be held on February 3, while Dr Kenneth Kaunda’s regional conference would be held on the weekend of 9 and 10 February.
"The Regional Conference for Bojanala will be held before the end of March, in compliance with the High Court decision. The Regional Task Team (RTT) will be responsible - under the guidance of the PEC - for the 38 branches to rerun BGMs/BAGMs as directed by the court on 13 December 2017," she said.
