The South African Zionist Federation warmly welcomes Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s first visit to Africa. This is another indication of how Israel and Africa are moving closer together. The Prime Minister travelled to Egypt for the first time in a decade on an official visit between Israel and Egypt, and his visit closely follows Israel’s gaining observer status to the African Union. Egypt was the first Arab country to make peace with Israel and normalise relations back in 1979. We call on the South African government to take note of these positive developments across the African continent.
