HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT TO HOLD PROGRAMME COMMITTEE MEETINGS AND PLENARY SESSIONS

Parliament, Wednesday, 23 March 2022 – The National Assembly (NA) and the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) will tomorrow convene their virtual Programme Committee meetings at 08:30 to plan for the business of Parliament.
 
Amongst issues for consideration at these meetings include the draft programme of the Houses of Parliament, committee reports, and Bills before the NCOP and NA, respectively.

Later on, at 2 pm, the NA will hold a hybrid plenary session for consideration of several committee reports that include:  

Report of the Standing Committee (ST) on Appropriations on Division of Revenue Bill

Reports of the PC on Communications on the recommendations of candidates to fill four vacancies on Council of Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa); two vacancies on Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA) Board and a vacancy on South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) Board.

Report of the PC on Public Enterprises on Oversight visit to Transnet

Report of the PC on Public Enterprises on Oversight visit to Eskom (Medupi and Kusile Power Stations) and 

Report of the PC on Transport on 2021/22 first quarter expenditure of Department of Transport.

Meanwhile, the NCOP will, at 2 pm, hold a virtual plenary session to debate: “The relevance and success of Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment and Employment Equity legislation.”
