The DA welcomes the election of Alan Winde as Premier of the Western Cape.

The Western Cape Provincial Parliament today sat for the first time to begin a new parliamentary term. Today’s sitting saw newly-elected members swear their oaths of office and elect the new senior leadership of the House and Western Cape Government.

Newly-sworn in members of the House re-elected Alan Winde as Western Cape Premier and Daylin Mitchell as Speaker of the House, while Reagen Allen was elected as Deputy Speaker.

The DA congratulates Premier Winde and the new parliamentary leadership on their election. We are confident that they will serve in the best interest of all in the Western Cape.
