DA Leader Steenhuisen to lead oversight inspection to Phoenix and Chatsworth police stations after KZN unrest

Tomorrow, Tuesday 17 August 2021, DA Federal Leader, John Steenhuisen MP, DA KwaZulu Natal Provincial Leader, Francois Rodgers MPL, DA KwaZulu Natal Provincial Chairperson, Dean Macpherson MP, DA KwaZulu Natal Provincial Deputy Chairperson, Cllr Sithembiso Ngema, DA KZN Spokesperson for Safety and Security, Sharon Hoosen MPL and Local Constituency Leadership, will conduct oversight inspections to three police stations in Kwazulu Natal after last months unrest and looting.

The purpose of their oversights will be to determine why the police failed to act when called on to assist in Phoenix and Chatsworth during the recent unrest.

They will also be looking into the current status of the investigations into alleged murders, attempted murders and looting that took place, the arrest of instigators of the violence in the area, and the confiscation of legal firearms.
