The DA encourages all parents who have not already registered their children for grades one through eight next year to make use of the second opportunity to do so before Friday 10 November 2017.

While the Gauteng Department of Education has already placed over 200 000 learners at schools throughout the province, it must make sure that it places the remaining 70 000 learners who have still not been assigned to a classroom for next year.

It is imperative that this be done sooner rather than later, as parents have to budget for uniforms and school supplies.

The DA will monitor the online registration process as well as school placements to ensure that the crisis that happened this year, where some learners were only placed in late February, is avoided.
