The African National Congress in KwaZulu-Natal has informed media houses through the South African National Editors Forum that the party has taken a decision to no longer treat Xolani Dube just like other Political Analysts.

In addition, Xolani Dube, who has been masquerading as a political analyst for too long, will be afforded the same treatment accorded to forces opposed to the ANC in this province.

This past weekend he showed his double agenda.

He organized an illegal march of a grouping called Umsinsi Wokuzimilela  to the private resident of PEC member and Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Cde Nomusa Dube-Ncube on Friday evening.

The statements made by this grouping was boastful and inflammatory with a potential to unnecessarily igniting violence  clashes in the future.

Many of us who are aware that Umsinsi Wokuzimilela is new in politics are sickened by the display of misguided militancy of this small grouping whose founder,  Xolani Dube himself, never ventured to challenge the real apartheid on the street.

It is clear that forces opposed to the agenda of the ANC in this province are using him to weaken the organization in KZN – a similar tactic used during the apartheid era.

For the record, we have interacted with Xolani Dube in the past. He is just a disgruntled former member of the ANC whose political ambition was destroyed by addiction to drugs. He uses every opportunity to mobilize against the party.

Under normal circumstances, there can be no objectivity and independent analysis from a disgruntled former member.

More and more evidence suggests that his political analysis in the mainstream media are rooted in hatred for the ANC.

Here are the following facts:-

●He  formed Xubera Institute as a front to allow his funders opposed to the ANC in KZN to channel money used to pay for hotels where workshops are held with the sole purpose of attacking ANC leaders;

●He established another front – the South African Natives Solutions KZN - which focused in the main on mobilizing against the ANC. This grouping collapsed;

●He went on to form Umsinsi Wokuzimilela. This grouping stormed the meeting of the Provincial Executive Council last year. The target was former ANC Chair and former Premier Sihle Zikalala who was insulted continuously through the social media and public statements;

It is often stated that media houses bear great responsibility to ensure that their content is presented not in an overly biased manner.  It is not the case with Mr Xolani Dube.

His political mobilization programme against the ANC have unmasked a political activist who is  masquerading as a political analyst.

Our view is that if extra care is not taken, Mr Xolani Dube will inflict an irreparable damage into the images of reputable media brands. We have stated this because we are now prepared to meet him on the ground.

We must hasten to point out that between the ANC-led government and political  organizations, there are many a time where disagreements are observed. Such is the relationship between the state and the labour unions.

The role of the government is to administer government policy in the interest of the broader society.

Sometimes groups such as community representatives, workers or business interests intervene on behalf of their members. And it is the role of government in this province to find the best way to ensure that the interest of the greater public is protected through  statutory forums.

People have marched to government institutions because they are connected to these public institutions by virtue that as voters they have a stake in how public matters are managed.

Sometimes, members of an association or political party may march to the offices of their own leaders since they are associated with the offices as members.

We must however point out that Comrade Nomusa Dube-Ncube’s residence is a private property. Her innocent children have got nothing to do with executive decision making processes of the provincial executive council and the government of KwaZulu-Natal.

Finally, our warning to Xolani Dube is: Marching to the private property of a political leader is a sign of recklessness. This will have unintended consequences that you will live to regret!
