The University of the Witwatersrand today honoured the life of Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe – a former Wits lecturer and anti-apartheid struggle activist – by renaming Central Block the Robert Sobukwe Block. Wits Chancellor, Justice Dikgang Moseneke paid tribute to Sobukwe in his keynote address.

The plaque for the renaming of the Central Block to Robert Sobukwe Block was unveiled by Moseneke and Sobukwe’s son, Dini Sobukwe.
