The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Western Cape is proud to announce the candidates for the upcoming ward by-elections taking place on the 13th of November 2019. The party will be contesting three by-elections in the month of November and have selected the candidates who will be representing the party and their community.
In the City of Cape Town, there will be two by-elections and one in Matzikama. The party has already started to campaign in these communities to reach every DA voter and ensure that they are registered to vote in these by-elections.
Various leaders have also visited these areas to show their support for the campaign teams while engaging the residents about their questions and concerns.
Our candidates are as follows:
- City of Cape Town - Ward 82, Tafelsig, Mitchell’s Plain
- DA Candidate - Washiela Harris
- City of Cape Town - Ward 19, includes Highbury, Westbank, Camelot, Kalkfontein and Wembley
- DA Candidate - Ebrahim Sawant
- Matzikama - Ward 4, Vredendal North
- DA Candidate - Andrew Julies
We will be working hard over the next few weeks to canvass, persuade and turnout every DA supporter. These by-elections are critical and we urge every voter who resides in these communities to vote DA on the 13th of November 2019.
The DA is the only party with a track record of service delivery and good governance built on our values of Freedom, Fairness, Opportunity and Diversity. We remain committed to building one prosperous South Africa for all.
