Facilitated by EY South Africa partner Duane Newman, they will endeavour to answer questions such as:

  • How significant is the South African automotive sector in terms of know-how and employment?
  • What are the key policy and infrastructure initiatives needed to support the local automotive sector?
  • Is the world’s shift to new energy vehicles (NEVs) proceeding as expected or is it slowing?
  • Will there be continued scope for localisation as South Africa shifts towards the manufacturing of NEVs?
  • What does the country need to do to ensure that it does not lose its share of automotive exports? Are Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism a key risk?

Attendees will also be able to pose their own questions to our panel for consideration.
