Leading South African law firm Webber Wentzel has received the Private Equity Africa Deals Legal Advisor of the Year award for 2013.

The Private Equity Africa Awards recognise the achievements of GP investors and advisors . Winners were selected by an independent panel of judges based on recommendations from the London Business School, Coller Institute of Private Equity and the Private Equity Africa Awards Advisory Panel.

Webber Wentzel was the only South African law firm shortlisted.  The firm's global alliance partner, Linklaters, received a Special Recognition Award for advising on a Zambia Energy Corporation deal.
