Roger Southall is Emeritus Professor of Sociology, University of the Witwatersrand. His
books include Imperialism or Solidarity? International Labour and South African Trade Unions
(1995) and Smuts and Mandela: The Men who Made South Africa (2024).
Prof Bongani Ngqulunga is the Senior Executive Director: University Relations at the University of Johannesburg. He is author of the award-winning biography The Man Who Founded the ANC: A Biography of Pixley ka Isaka Seme. Ngqulunga's scholarship focuses primarily on the history and politics of African nationalism in South Africa as well as
African political biography.
