The Progressive Professionals Forum (PPF) wishes to welcome the executive changes announced by the President of the Republic Cyril Ramaphosa which include the appointment of a new Deputy President, Ministers and Deputy Ministers for the country.
The PPF welcomes the appointment of the new Deputy President Paul Mashatile as the right move to further strengthen government stability and focus, as well as the appointment of two new ministers and their deputies, the Minister of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation.
The Minister of Electricity Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa is appointed with the determination to resolve speedily the power crisis that has engulfed SA for over two decades.
President of the PPF Kashif Wicomb says: “We particularly note that it is the first time that someone with a degree in Civil Engineering is appointed as a Minister, more so, that the portfolio in question requires the skill set of an engineer. Judging from his track record, the appointment of Dr Ramokgopa inspires hope that the crisis will be resolved.
“We must also congratulate the retention of performing ministers in various portfolios. This includes Minister Khensani Kubhayi, Ronald Lamola, Stella Ndabeni, Ebrahim Patel, Thoko Didiza and many other shining stars in the Executive. Their retention is a resounding vote of confidence in the work they do,” says Wicomb.

‘’THE THINK TANK AND RESOURCE BASE OF SOUTH AFRICA’’
The PPF wishes to reiterate the call by the President of the Republic for a sense of urgency in the delivery and resolution of challenges facing South Africa and its people. The Cabinet changes should bring decisive action and improved service delivery. The people are tired of rampant corruption and violent crime, growing inequalities, and poverty. The people want to see transformation policies that can meaningfully alter their economic status and deliver the promise of democracy. The
Government is in dire need of new energy and competency and lip service without action should no longer be tolerated.
