The South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU) have learnt, with shock, of the sudden passing of the former Botswana Teachers Union (BTU) Secretary General Comrade Ibo Nana Kenosi on Monday, 16th August 2021

Comrade Ibo Nana Kenosi will be remembered for his contribution in the strengthening of the Botswana Teachers Union (BTU) which he led from 2010-2016, close cooperation amongst teacher unions and the improvement of conditions of service of teachers in Botswana.

He had a keen interest in creating unity among educators in Botswana. This was evidenced in his commitment and the important role he played in the Education International (EI) /American Federation of Teachers (AFT) /South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU) initiative aimed at reinforcing teacher unity and cooperation between Botswana Teachers Union (BTU) and Botswana Sectors of Educators Trade Union (BOSETU).

The South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU) sends its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and the Botswana Teachers Union (BTU) on the passing of our beloved comrade.
