Section27 attorney Sasha Stevenson speaks to Polity’s Sane Dhlamini about the recently released Health Ombusdman Professor Makgalepuru Makgoba's report titled 94+ Silent Deaths and Still Counting.

Ninety-four mentally ill patients died after being removed by the Gauteng Department of Health from Life Healthcare Esidimeni to 27 unregistered NGO’s last year.

Out of the 94 patients that dies, only one died due to a mental condition. Gauteng Health MEC Qedani Mahlangu resigned in the wake of the report.
