The Mpumalanga Department of Education has reached an 80.1% mark following the release of the results of the supplementary examinations today by the Minister of Basic Education, Mrs Angie Motshekga.

“These results are indeed a reflection of hard work and dedication from our teachers, learners and parents. We wish to thank all stakeholders who believed in the vision of government by rallying side by side with the department leading to the achievement of such results".

We will not stop mentioning the undivided support received from the Honourable Premier; Mr DD Mabuza and teacher unions from the province. Had it not been for their foresight, we would not be celebrating as we do. Indeed this is a good story to tell,” said the MEC for Education, Mrs Reginah Mhaule.

The Grade 12 results of Mpumalanga improved from 47.9% in 2009 to 80.8% in 2013 making it the most improved province in the country.
