President Jacob Zuma has in terms of sections 174(6) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, and on the advice of the Judicial Service Commission, appointed Judges in various High Courts.

The President has appointed the following Judges:

a) The Honourable Mr Justice Selby Mfanelo Mbenenge as Judge President of the Eastern Cape Division of the High Court, with effect from 7 November 2017 in an existing vacancy;

b) Mr Ndumiso Patrick Jali as Judge of the Eastern Cape Division of the High Court, Grahamstown, with effect from 1 November 2017 in an existing vacancy;

c) Mr Mbulelo Standford Jolwana as a Judge of the Eastern Cape Local Division of the High Court, Mthatha, with effect from 01 November 2017 in an existing vacancy;

d) Advocate Phillip Jacobus Loubser SC as a Judge of the Free State Division of the High Court, Bloemfontein, with effect from 16 December 2017 in an existing vacancy;

e) Ms Colleen Jane Collis as a Judge of the Gauteng Division of the High Court, with effect from 1 January 2018 in an existing vacancy;

f) Advocate Norman Davis SC as a Judge of the Gauteng Division of the High Court, with effect from 1 Janaury 2018 in an existing vacancy;

g) Ms Maletsatsi Betty Mahalelo as a Judge of the Gauteng Division of the High Court, with effect from 1 January 2018 in an existing vacancy;

h) Advocate Tintswalo Annah Nana Makhubele SC as a Judge of the Gauteng Division of the High Court, with effect from 1 January 2018 in an existing vacancy;

i) Mr Cassim Mohamed Sardiwalla as a Judge of the Gauteng Division of the High Court, with effect from 1 January 2018 in an existing vacancy;

j) Advocate David Unterhalter SC as a Judge of the Gauteng Division of the High Court, with effect from 1 January 2018 in an existing vacancy;

k) Advocate Cornelius Jacobus Van Der Westhuizen SC as a Judge of the Gauteng Division of the High Court, with effect from 1 January 2018 in an existing vacancy;

l) Mr Taswell Deveril Papier as a Judge of the Western Cape Division of the High Court, Cape Town, with effect from 1 November 2017 in an existing vacancy;

m) Mr Mushtak Kassim Parker as a Judge of the Western Cape Division of the High Court, Cape Town, with effect from 1 November 2017 in an existing vacancy;

n) Advocate Mark Louis Sher SC as a Judge of the Western Cape Division of the High Court, Cape Town, with effect from 1 November 2017 in an existing vacancy;

o) Mr Eduard Derek Wille as a Judge of the Western Cape Division of the High Court, Cape Town, with effect from 1 November 2017 in an existing vacancy.

President Zuma has wished all the appointed Judges all the best in their new responsibilities.
