Parliament of South Africa has joined the world in condemning the attack on the Parliament of the United Kingdom (UN), which left five people dead and over 40 injured on 22 March 2017. Parliament said: “the attack is a senseless brutality and a horrific act of violence that should be condemned by all democracy and peace loving people across the world.”
Parliament also expressed condolences to the families and friends of the deceased, and wished those injured in the cowardly deed, a speedy recovery. Five people have died including a policeman and the attacker, with over 40 people injured, when a 52 year old man rammed into pedestrians with a car on his way to the UK Parliamentary precinct where he stabbed a policeman.
Parliament believes there can be no cause valid enough to justify such a gratuitous attack on the Parliament and people of the United Kingdom, and therefore urges all Parliaments to remain vigilant.
