President Cyril Ramaphosa was due on Friday to visit the Electoral Commission of South Africa's (IEC) results operations centre where vote counting is underway after May 8 national elections, his office said.
The Presidency said during his visit to the Tshwane events centre in Pretoria West scheduled for 10 am, Ramaphosa would do a walk-about to see the closing stages of the results process.
South Africa held its sixth general elections on Wednesday and the results from the polls are trickling in at the IEC's elections nerve centre.
Ramaphosa's ruling African National Congress (ANC) maintained its lead on Friday, and the ANC was edging towards seven-million votes before 9 am, followed by the Mmusi Maimane led Democratic Alliance with close to three-million votes.
