President Cyril Ramaphosa has invited the Judicial Service Commission to provide its input into the suitability of his preferred candidate for Judge President of the Supreme Court of Appeal Justice Mahube Betty Molemela.
The position became vacant when Justice Mandisa Maya became Deputy Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court in September last year.
Molemela, who is a SCA judge, has 15 years of judicial experience and a B.Proc degree from the University of Fort Hare; and an LLB, LLM and LLD (Honoris Causa) from the University of Free State.
She has served as a Judge of the Free State High Court, the Labour and Labour Appeal Court, Acting Judge of the Competition Appeal Court and Acting Judge of the Constitutional Court.
