The CVs of each of the 36 candidates for the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) board are available online and the portfolio committee on communications is awaiting the public’s comment.
On Tuesday, the committee selected the shortlist from which the permanent board of 12 will be selected. The list includes the five members of the current interim SABC board.
Written comments should reach the committee by no later than the end of business on Tuesday, August 29.

Currently, the 36 candidates are being vetted and their qualifications verified. The candidates will be interviewed next week, from Wednesday until Friday, 12 a day.
According to the current schedule, the committee will deliberate and select the final 12 candidates on Monday, September 4. They will then be presented to the National Assembly for it to make a recommendation to the president that they serve on the board.
