Gauteng Premier, David Makhura together with members of the Oliver Tambo family will on Friday, 27 October 2017 lead a wreath laying ceremony in honour of the struggle icon Oliver Reginald Tambo at the Tamboville Cemetery in Wattville.
This forms part of the OR Tambo Centenary celebrations. OR Tambo was born on 27 October 1917, and would have turned 100 years this year. He died on 24 April 1993 at the age of 75.
The Premier will be joined by Members of the Gauteng Executive Council, the Soncini Family, long time family friends of Mr Tambo, led by Ms Bruna Soncini, an Italian delegation led by Agriculture Minister Simona Casseli.
