The ambassador of the Russian Federation to South Africa, H.E. Mr Mikhail Petrakov will visit Limpopo from the 22nd until 26 August 2016. He will start his visit at Mowaneng Building where he will meet with the Premier of Limpopo, Mr Chupu Stanley Mathabatha. There will be media briefing about the visit later that day.
South Africa and Russia are members of BRICS, the five major developing countries. They are distinguished by their fast growing economies and influence on regional affairs. The two countries are also part of G-20 countries, founded in 1999.
As part of the visit, the ambassador will meet with the vice chancellor of the University of Limpopo, and later travel to Phalaborwa. He will tour in the IMBS mine, and have dinner with the CEO of SANParks at Kruger National Park. He will proceed to the public lecture at University of Venda, and end his visit at Mapungubwe National Park on the 26th August 2016.
