We are told that many women do not report cases of violence, that is so because of lack of confidence towards our law-enforcement agencies.
It is clear that those with access to expensive and experienced legal counsellor are entitled to kill or rape without any consequences. This precedence started with their father, Jacob Zuma when he walked free despite the rape case of the late Khwezi (may her soul rest in peace).
PAC is extremely flabbergasted by the bail granted to a violent and bully Deputy Minister Mdu Manana who is from the governing party. This is a great shock to the PAC as we thought that since the matter received a huge attention then the government would do what was right to keep Manana in custody with other offenders who disregards the rule of law.
Our law enforcement agencies do not learn. We are risking many lives of many women who potentially can be victims of this bully who goes around beating women, it is obvious that this time he can kill because he is a man of a great potential of such acts.
We are not happy. This is a common gesture we always see in our communities where same criminals with a great connection are not punished by law-enforcement agencies. What is triggering our displeasure is that Manana was beating a woman for the second time now as he have done this in the past years in his hometown of Ermelo.
This bail hearing does not augur well for the future of law-enforcement agencies in our country.
