Greetings from ONE.org.
As you know, May is Africa month, and 25 May is Africa Day.
The African Union has declared 2014 as the Year of Agriculture. ONE.org is rallying all Africans to celebrate Africa Day by signing the ‘Do Agric, It Pays’ petition, which calls on African leaders to invest more in Agriculture. The sector accounts for 70% of Africa’s labour force and is quickest way to create jobs and grow African economies.
19 of Africa's top artists got together this year to record Africa's biggest music collaboration, 'Cocoa Na Chocolate' in support of the petition. They include D’banj and Femi Kuti (Nigeria), Diamond and AY (Tanzania), Judith Sephuma and Vusi Nova (South Africa) and Fally Ipupa (DRC).
The song is available for download on www.one.org
To celebrate Africa Day, ONE.org is calling on all media personalities, radio stations, television stations and online broadcasters to participate in a Roadblock and play this song at the same time on Sunday 25 and Monday 26th May - 7H10 and 13H10 South African Time (6H10 and 12H10 Central African Time).
Here is a sample live read/post for the media to support the airplay:
Sunday May 25th is Africa Day and 19 of Africa’s top artists have collaborated on this song ‘Cocoa Na Chocolate’, calling on African leaders to invest more in agriculture, which is the quickest means to create more jobs and develop our economies. You too can lend your voice. Visit www.one.organd sign the petition that calls on our leaders to invest more in agriculture. You will also get a free download of the song ‘Cocoa Na Chocolate’ when you sign the petition at www.one.org
