The Director- General of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment, Ms Nomfundo Tshabalala will officiate the Working on Fire graduation 19 Type 2 Crew Leaders who have successfully completed the Wildland Firefighting training at the Kishungu Training Academy, on Friday, 18 March 2022, in Mbombela, Mpumalanga.
The prestigious event will see the graduates step out in their roles as frontline heroes who have taken the vow to save lives, property and protect the natural environment from harmful wildfires. The Working on Fire Programme, through the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE)is one of the country’s most successful job creation projects and currently employs more than 5000 across the country.
