Higher Education and Training Minister Blade Nzimande is on Monday expected to release his recommendations on fee adjustments for universities and colleges.

This comes as the University of Cape Town suspended the academic programme amid threats of protest action.

For several weeks, fee increment increases have been at the vortex of violent upheaval at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, during which time a prized law library was torched.

The briefing by Nzimande follows the Council on Higher Education report for 2017 fee adjustments, as well as his “ongoing consultations with key stakeholders”.
