On Thursday, the National Assembly Programming Committee (NAPC) resolved to reschedule a sitting that will deliberate on the motion of no confidence against Speaker of the National Assembly Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula to March 22, 2023.
Inititally scheduled for March 7, 2023, the delay has been attributed to the unavailability of the Cape Town City Hall, where the Assembly usually holds its full physical sittings.
In a similar method applied to the processing of the Section 89 Independent Panel Report, an open ballot voting system will be administered to decide on the motion as “all members of the National Assembly are expected to be physically present in the House”, the NAPC affirmed.
