Minister in Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Jeff Radebe will deliver the keynote address at the Regenesys Business School graduation ceremony.
In achieving the objectives of the broader developmental framework, education has been identified as being a central component in the National Development Plan (NDP) due to the role that it plays in building an inclusive society, that provides equal opportunities for all South Africans. The NDP further proclaims, “Research and innovation by universities, science councils, departments, NGOs and private sector has a key role to play in improving South Africa’s global competitiveness.”
The NDP emphasizes that an expanding higher education sector can contribute towards rising incomes, higher productivity and the move towards a more knowledge-intensive economy.
