The Global Business Services (GBS) sector presents a historic opportunity for South Africa to address its unemployment and growth challenges. the dtic in recognising the important role of this sector in South Africa provides investment promotion support, policy support and extends grants to investors that create GBS employment in South Africa, through an incentive that considers the number of jobs created and the complexity of the employment opportunities provided.

South Africa is well-positioned to capture an increasing share of this global opportunity and achieve the industry’s target of 500 000 cumulative new jobs to be created by 2030, with the support of government.  The GBS Master Plan process is brought together by government, industry, social partners and labour to set a common vision and action agenda for developing and growing the sector. The Master Plan provides a framework and overview of the contributions to be made by the parties and the support which is required to realise this opportunity.
