The farming sector in KwaZulu-Natal will be under the microscope this week when the Minister of Labour, Mildred Oliphant, leads a team of labour inspectors and other law enforcement agencies during blitz inspections in KwaZulu-Natal farms on Friday 21 April 2017.
The purpose of the inspections is to ensure that employers are meeting the required conditions and standards set by our labour laws. The inspections will focus on ensuring compliance with Employment Equity (EE), Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA), Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), the Labour Relations Act (LRA) and relevant sectoral determinations.
