Minister of Small Business Development, Ms Lindiwe Zulu, and Deputy Minister. Ms Nomathemba November, will deliver their Budget Vote speeches on Thursday, 18 May 2017 at the Old Assembly Chamber, Parliament, Cape Town.
Both Minister and Deputy Minister will use the occasion to outline the priorities of the department for the 2017/2018 financial year and to account for the department’s performance for the last financial year and last three years. In so doing, they will reflect on the progress made in 2016/17 and to present future commitments.
The Budget Vote speech will be delivered as follows:

The department will also host a post-Budget Departmental Stakeholder Dialogue on Friday, 19 May 2017 at the University of the Western Cape. During this occasion, Minister Zulu and Deputy Minister November will unpack key areas of their Budget Speeches and receive feedback from academics, PhD students and small business practitioners on effective implementation of programmes, policies and strategies that would help take small businesses to a higher trajectory.
