The MEC for Economic Development, Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development, Parks Tau will speak at the launch of the Thabo Mbeki Presidential Library on 28 September. The Thabo Mbeki Foundation has built this library which will serve as the epicentre for African Renaissance.
This new library will not only serve as an archive centre for historical data, such as speeches and documents of former President Mbeki, but will also receive special collections from other African historical figures. The library provides infrastructure for the preservation and distribution of African history and knowledge, as a result it is expected to be an anchor for local and international scholars.
MEC Tau will focus on the importance of having such a library for the Gauteng City Region.
