Mathews Phosa who has joined the race to take over from President Jacob Zuma as leader of the African National Congress (ANC) at the elective conference in December is taking his campaign to Limpopo on Thursday.
The ANC presidential hopeful will address the Limpopo traditional leaders indaba at the Apel Community Hall, in Sekhukhune, as part of his bid to unify the party and its structures.
Katlego Mphela, the Limpopo convenor of Phosa’s campaign, said representatives of Congress of South African Students, South African Students Congress, Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa and civic movements were expected to speak in support of the attorney. Phosa is a former premier of Mpumalanga. He is a member of the National Executive Committee of the ANC.
Other hopefuls to lead the ANC include Cyril Ramaphosa, Nkosanzana Dlamini-Zuma and Lindiwe Sisulu.
