South Africa recently received shocking revelations about the death of psychiatric patients that died after being moved to unlicensed facilities from Life Esidimeni Centre.

Health Ombudsman Malekgapuru Makgoba’s report titled 94+ silent deaths and still counting exposed the gross negligence of the Gauteng Health Department MEC Qedani Mahlangu in looking after the mental patients. MEC Mahlangu has since resigned.
