Global legal practice Norton Rose Fulbright’s South African offices have been accredited as  solicitor training establishments by the English Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). The appointment allows the three national offices to train English law graduates to become English qualified solicitors in South Africa.

The SRA took into account the South African offices’ in-house resources and ability to deliver training of an international standard. The legal team has eight English law qualified directors with extensive English law and cross-border experience.

The Africa department headed by Steven Gamble, who has been appointed as the training principal, has already recruited its first trainee solicitor, who graduated with an English law qualification in London and started her training contract with Norton Rose Fulbright South Africa this year, 2014.
