- Launch of the development of the National Circular Economy Roadmap of Ethiopia45.13 MB
Ethiopia, with a rapidly growing population of approximately 117-million people as of 2021, faces significant socio-economic and environmental challenges, including high unemployment, rapid urbanization, and inefficient waste management.
The Government of Ethiopia's Climate Resilient Green Economy (CRGE) vision prioritizes sustainable development, aiming to integrate Circular Economy into environmental governance and national development plans.
The NCER project will help the country to institutionalize the circular economy (CE) in public and private development policies, strengthen enabling conditions, and create a legal and institutional framework for CE, while also fostering multi-stakeholder dialogue and information exchange in key sectors.
