The Supreme Court in Kenya on Wednesday announced its full judgement on the nullified August 8 presidential elections “which were neither transparent nor verifiable”, the BBC reported Wednesday afternoon.

The court said Kenya’s Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) failed to verify the results of the election before announcing results and also refused to obey a court order to allow proper scrutiny of the electronic voting system.

Furthermore, the IEBC was unable to explain what had happened to the results from over 11 000 polling stations which were required by law to be sent to tallying stations.

Ultimately the court was forced by default to accept claims by the opposition that the computer system had been hacked and data interfered with, after the IEBC refused to allow full access to its computer system.
