Keith is a highly respected English qualified financial services and regulatory lawyer. He will focus on legal and regulatory affairs in African financial and capital markets. He has significant experience advising on the establishment of financial services businesses across Africa and has engaged with senior policy makers and regulators across the length and breadth of the continent.
Rob Otty, managing director, Norton Rose Fulbright South Africa, comments:
“We are delighted to welcome Keith who brings extensive experience of executing transactions in the complex regulatory environment faced by financial institutions in the UK and in Africa. He will boost our leading Africa practice which is an integral part of our global capability. We’re seeing an increasing emphasis on Africa from our clients and his move adds further weight to the strength of our offering on the continent.”
Keith Mukami adds:
“Norton Rose Fulbright, and its financial services practice, in particular, has an excellent reputation with a truly global presence, making this an exciting new chapter in my career. I'm looking forward to working with the existing team to develop it even further.
“We've seen continued strategic expansion activity in the financial institutions space in Africa over the last couple of years. Regulatory issues are now at the forefront for clients, and while each country has its own challenges, regulatory issues our clients face in this sector are common across many jurisdictions.”
