JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Italian companies targeting South African partnerships in areas including mining and energy are attracting attention at this week’s Electra Mining Africa 2026 at Johannesburg’s Nasrec Expo Centre.
The companies are exhibiting in Hall 1 and also reinforced what they have to offer at an evening event at South Africa's renowned Italian Sporting Club in Bedfordview.
Introduced by the Consul General of Italy in Johannesburg Livio Spadavecchia were companies whose offerings included:
- solutions for the automation, control, and monitoring of electrical grids;
- liquid-cooled braking resistors for electric mining trucks and lorries;
- wireless communication solutions for hazardous locations;
- industrial safety radio remote controls;
- filter presses, thickeners, and water and sludge treatment plants;
- electrical transformers for utilities and industry;
- bulk material handling systems including crushing units, apron feeders, stackers, reclaimers, combined bucket wheels, ship loaders, and conveyors; and
- rapid-deployable private network modules for mission-critical, public-safety and enterprise environments.
In presenting their products and services, they outlined the collaboration envisaged ahead of networking.
Links given to Mining Weekly enabled access to the likes of Apeiroon, which delivers end-to-end cellular solutions; Bedeschi, which designs turnkey bulk handling solutions; BSTransfo, a manufacturer of high-voltage transformers; Diefenbach, which designs and manufactures separation equipment for filtration and dewatering; IMET, which designs and manufactures industrial security radio control; Solexy, which provides wireless communication solutions for hazardous locations; Telema, whose product portfolio has been expanded to contactors, disconnectors and protection relays for the railway market, in addition to cooling fans for applications in forced ventilation; and Thytronic, which provides solutions for the protection, automation, control, and monitoring of electrical networks.
