You are cordially invited to attend the Inauguration of ISIbalo Annual
Lecture Series by Hon. Trevor Manuel, Minister in the Presidency
responsible for National Planning.

The ISIbalo Annual Lecture Series is a joint intellectual collaboration
between Statistics South Africa and the Demography and Population
Studies Programme at Wits University.

The Millennium Development Goals (MDG) end date is set at 2015. The MDG
enjoined the world on evidence based policy making.  The national
development plan which embeds the MDGs places evidence center stage as
the basis for policy making and implementation.

The ISIbalo Annual Lecture Series is a platform for dialogue and
reflections on evidence based decision making.  Through this platform
the public, academia, business and public sector practitioners and
political leadership can engage on the value of measurement in planning,
implementation and monitoring.  It is a facility that facilitates the
deepening of democracy through dialogue, service delivery and
accountability.
