The Independent South African National Civic Organisation (Isanco) will participate in the upcoming Multi-Party National Convention, set to take place on Wednesday and Thursday, in Johannesburg
The Convention, which will take place at the same venue as the historic CODESA negotiations, will be chaired by Professor William Gumede and supported by four independent advisers: Nerine Kahn, Linda Vilakazi, Olmo van Meijenfeldt and Hawa Khan.
Since breaking away from the South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) in 2021 owing to its failure to address corruption, Isanco has won 14 council seats in areas previously dominated by the African National Congress (ANC).
“The addition of Isanco to the National Convention signifies that South Africans from all backgrounds, including those who have previously supported the ANC, are now looking for a credible alternative that can move our country forward again. It also demonstrates our group’s ongoing efforts to bring on board like-minded parties who share our core values and desire to provide a real alternative to decades of ANC misrule,” the party said.
