President Cyril Ramaphosa is scheduled to answer questions from delegates of the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) on Thursday at 14:00. He will answer questions on various topics, including government’s plans to fight poverty and unemployment, the signing of the Health Compact Bill and plans to deal with business extortion.

On Tuesday at 10:00, the NCOP will hold a ministerial briefing session on challenges facing infrastructure delivery to communities. On the same day at 14:00, the NA will hold a hybrid sitting to consider the draft notice and schedule, determining the rate at which the salaries, allowances and benefits are payable to members of the Commission for Gender Equality annually. The House will also make a decision of question on a draft resolution debated during a mini plenary on Friday, 6 September, on the need for a parliamentary investigation on the impact of the crime of extortion in South Africa.

On Wednesday at 15:00, the Cluster 3 ministers – the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Minister in The Presidency (GCIS), Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, the Minister of Public Service and Administration and the Minister of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities will answer questions in the NA.

On Thursday, the NA will hold its two-day strategic planning session, which will end on Friday at 13:00. The House will use the session to set goals and objectives for the 7th term of Parliament.
