GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES YOUTH MONTH 2022 IN SOWETO

The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) under the auspices of the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD) will in partnership with the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture (DSAC) launch the 2022 Youth Month on Thursday, 02 June 2022.

Hosted under the theme: "Promoting sustainable livelihood and resilience of young people for a better tomorrow", this year’s Youth Month campaign seeks to highlight challenges faced by the youth, present possible solutions through dialogues, as well as to showcase opportunities available for the youth. The year 2022 marks the 46th Anniversary since the June 16 Student Uprising of 1976.

During the media launch, Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane and the National Youth Development Agency Executive Chairperson, Ms Asanda Luwaca will unveil this year’s calendar of activities for the month of June.

Venue:        Morris Isaacson High School, Soweto

 

NB! The launch at the school will be followed by the wreath laying ceremony at Hector Peterson Memorial which will commence at 11h00. This will be followed by a press briefing at Uncle Tom's Hall from 11h30 to 13h30.
