The GOOD Party will seek leave to appeal today’s Electoral Court finding that the party had not complied with the Electoral Funding Act.
The party operates on a very modest budget and scrupulously adheres to requirements of the act.
The Electoral Court reached its judgement without hearing argument or evidence. The judgement reflects the court’s reliance on the fabrications of a “whistle-blower” – who happens to be a disgruntled former party official who was expelled for pocketing party donations.
Our legal advice is that the court erred in several respects, directly impacting the outcome.
