Premier David Makhura will on Wednesday, 17 May 2017 announce partnerships with major international and local companies such as Coca Cola, Hollard, Gijima, Shanduka Black Umbrellas, Microsoft SA and COFESA for youth empowerment.
This forms part of Gauteng’s flagship programme for youth empowerment, Tshepo 1 Million aimed at providing opportunities to youth in townships who are confronted by lack of skills and limited opportunities.
The Tshepo initiative was first launched in 2014 with the intention to empower 500 000 young people through skills training and entrepreneurship development. The programme has been increased to empower one million young people based on its success and the enthusiasm shown by private sector companies.
Members of the media are invited to the announcement scheduled as follows:
Date: Wednesday, 17 May 2017
Time: 07h30
Venue: Regenesys Business School
4 Pybus Rd, Sandton, Johannesburg
