The National Council of Provinces (NCOP) permanent delegates to Gauteng will, tomorrow, continue with oversight visits to assess informal settlements in region G of the City of Johannesburg.
 
The NCOP delegation’s focus in Gauteng is on the Provision of integrated housing infrastructure, including measures to address the housing backlog and create integrated and sustainable human settlements.
 
The visits form part of the NCOP’s Provincial Week programme, where Members of Parliament undertake a week-long (29 March to 1 April 2022) visit to their respective provinces to conduct oversight.
 
DETAILS OF THE SITE VISITS:
 
WEDNESDAY, 30 MARCH
 
EVENT: Site Visit to Informal Settlements in the City of Johannesburg Region G
Time: 09:00 – 13:00
Assembly Point: Corrobrick Building (Johannesburg Regional Office - Lenasia).
 
EVENT: Briefing by the City of Johannesburg
Time 14:00 – 17:00
Assembly Point: Corrobrick Building (Johannesburg Regional Office - Lenasia).
 
On Thursday, the delegation will proceed with site visits to Emfuleni to inspect the water treatment project in Sebokeng before moving to various informal settlements in Orange Farm.
